Yoga with Jennifer Engleman is Now Moving Through the Mystery
Hi Friends,
I have big news: In June I did something I said I would never do. I opened my own yoga and movement studio - Moving Through the Mystery.
I have been so fortunate since I began teaching yoga more than 20 years ago to be invited into others' studios and spaces to learn, practice, and teach yoga and, more recently, movement classes. It was a model that worked so well for me for so long that I had neither the need nor the desire to open my own space. That changed during and after Covid as my 1:1 client list grew, my classes needed a home and I was driving all over town to make it work. I wanted a single location for my classes, clients and my own practices. I tested the waters last year by sharing a space with a colleague, and this year I decided to go out on my own.
Moving Through the Mystery is a yoga and movement studio for body, mind, and spirit. It's a laboratory of sorts, a place for investigation and exploration primarily, but not exclusively, through the lenses of movement and embodiment. It's a space dedicated to my own interests and practices (yoga, strength, mobility, hand balancing, somatic work, mindfulness and meditation) and for others to learn, explore, practice and share.
The name, Moving Through the Mystery, is a phrase that came to me while practicing in a local park during covid, and I've come to regard it as an honest explanation of how I'm approaching and making sense of this wild ride we call life. I don't consider myself a master of anything, but I am a dedicated seeker. A student of the mystery, you might say, and movement of all kinds is the lens I've most frequently and successfully applied to the endeavor.
This most recent endeavor (and, quite honestly, my entire career path) would not be possible without the encouragement and support of so many wonderful humans - the dedicated, hard-working clients who have showed up consistently and weathered many a transition over the last several years, the teachers I've learned so much from and who have encouraged me, and the studio owners and facility managers who have invited me and my classes into their spaces. I love my "job," and one of the greatest blessings has been the people it has brought into my life.
Community is a huge part of individual and collective wellness, and I want this studio to be a welcoming place where you not only pursue your physical goals, but build relationships that also support your overall health and wellness.
The studio address is 243 SW 34th Ave. It's located in Red Bud Plaza across (East) from Sam's Club. The current class schedule is below. This summer I will be in the process of gradually getting up and running, so the schedule is limited right now. A Grand Opening Celebration, fuller class schedule and more 1:1 sessions will be coming in late summer, so please stay tuned.
