New Year, New Video, New Class!

Hi Friends,

Happy New Year! For this month’s video, I have recorded a yoga practice focused on the breath. In it we explore three different kinds of breath and how we might use the breath to change how we practice a pose or how we experience the pose. We explore three breathing techniques in the video: cleansing breath, whole body breathing, and box breathing. Questions we might ask ourselves during the practice (or anytime we want to bring about some kind of change in body, mind, or emotion) are:

  • What are the qualities of the breath?

  • How is the breath affected by the pose (physical or mental state)?

  • How is the mind affected by the breath?

  • How can I use my breath to change the experience for mind/body?

I hope you enjoy the practice, and possibly even have the opportunity to use the breathing exercises (and perhaps any insights they bring) off the mat. Enjoy and let me know how it goes!
